AGP #547 – “63 Ford Falcon”
3 String Fretless Hubcap Guitar
Scale : 23 inches
Strings : .048NW / .032NW / .022NW /
Tuned: G D g
The Chrome Hubcap is obviously from an early 1960’s Ford Falcon, the Backboard is a $5 Charity Shop Purchase, probably a Cheese Board in a previous life, the Neck is an Australian Recycled Hardwood (Tallowwood I Think??), and given 3 Coats of Garnet Shellac to highlight the Natural Timber Colour.
A 10.5k Chrome Humbucker is wired through Vol and Tone Pots to the Output Jack.

"Thanks UJ", they're a nice simple, but plain Hubcap, the hogh dome in the centre can cause a few problems when building, that's why I cut the Humbucker in the Bridge position, just to lower it a bit, still have another one sitting on the shelf for a future build.
"Thanks Doug", back in the mid 1970's I had two 63 Falcons, one Ute and one Station Wagon
Super nice. Like the simple but handsome hubcap.
Very cool Alan! I actually had a 63 Falcon when I was in college; fond memories of a real oil burner ( I kept a case of oil in the trunk!).
