AGP #458 - “The Adventurers”3 String Fretted Baritone GuitarStrings: .040NW .026NW .018NWTuned: G D gThe Top Soundboard is 7mm Pine Plywood with Pyrographed Dave Lynas Art, the Bottom is 7mm Pine Plywood with Laser Printer Poly/Crylic Dave Lynas Art, both boards are coated with ‘British Paints Acrylic Clear Gloss’.The Box Sides are recycled Treated Pine Fence Pales left au-natural, the Vol Tone Knobs were offcuts from a Longan Fruit Tree, the Vol Tone Plates are recycled Galvanised Building Strap, and the Pyrographed Art Sides, were also from some of our Dear Departed Mates vast collection of drawings. The Neck is solid recycled Radiata Pine, and the Fretboard is recycled Spotted Gum, both coated with ‘Organoil Natural Wax & Polish’.A 12.8k Zebra Humbucker is Ghosted under the Soundboard near the Base of the Neck, and is wired through Vol & Tone Pots to the Output Jack, I think its the first time I’ve ever done a Ghosted Pup, but it works just fine.Tried to incorporate a few of Dave’s favourite materials and techniques, along with my style of construction, I think Dave fretted nearly all his builds, something I don’t do much any more, and despite the Neck being recycled Pine and Gum, much to my surprise!, there is no Fret Buzz, of course the Fretboard had to be painted ala Dave Style, Blue and Brown seemed to be one of his most used colours, as is the style of the Headstock and the Acoustic Tuners, but “God Rest His Soul”, I find the Headstock and Tuners a pain in the butt to build and string up, and I’m also finding the painted Fretboard a bit of a problem with finding the correct Fret, even with my usual Side Markers.R.I.P. Dave Lynas, gone, but not forgotten.

"Thanks UJ", Yep!, a little bit of time and work went it this one, but as always with most of my builds, it evolves and changes as I'm working on it, I did put a fair bit of time going through Dave's many Pics, to find a couple to use on the sides, and as you know there are a lot of them, and the two I used did jump out, especially the Smokin' Slide, one I had forgotten about, I never did get through them all, but it was a sentimental journey whilst looking. :-)
