AGP #41 - ''Shine'' (1)

(4 String Hub Cap Guitar) Scale: National / Dobro 635mm.Strings: .055W .044W .034W .026W. Tuning: ????.My 1st 4 stringer (all metal): 1965 Valiant Stainless Hubcap. Aluminium Neck. Aluminium Angle Bracing. Aluminium Nut & Bridge. Black Pre-Wired Pickup - with/Pots, Knobs, & Jack.Originally had it fitted with lighter strings which sounded a bit "rattly", since fitted heavier strings.I thought it would have a "tinny metal" sound, but instead sounds quite mellow with an Hawaiian Slide type feel.Having trouble finding a tuning I like, ANY SUGGESTIONS????.

  • dada. always even on my bouzouki. great build!

  • I just finished a four sting hubcap strung with the four lightest string to a light electric set tuned D-G-B-g and really like the sound!
  • Looks good.   Valiant.   DGDG?    Or use a heavy guage of the 4 small strings from a 6 string set and go DGBD.   Ask James, Wes Carl or some of the lap style folks.

  • stylish

  • sweet!

  • That's a cool guit. I like the all metal idea.
