AGP #409 - ''Rosy Wood''

AGP #409 - “Rosy Wood”3 String Fretless Wooden Bowl GuitarScale :654mm / 25¾ inchesStrings: .044NW/.030NW/.020NW/Tuning: F C fThe 15”x10”x3” Bowl is Rose Wood and not Acacia as I first thought, the Neck is recycled Grey Ironbark, and the 3.7k Single Pole Pick which is hardwired to the Output Jack, ain’t what it appears to be, I originally installed a 3.8k Silver Foil Soundhole Pickup, but after completion, and plugging it into the Amp, discovered the bloody thing didn’t work, after pulling it apart, couldn’t find the fault, so into the bin it went, pulled it back out and retrieved the the top Foil Section, removed the cover from a 3.7k 4 Pole Single Coil Bass Pickup, which fitted into the empty Foil Section nicely. :-)

  • "Thanks Southern Ray", for the generous comment!, and also for alerting me to Belton Sutherland, an Old Bluesman I was previously unaware of  :-)

  • Nice guitars there AGP! Interesting builds.

Uncle John, this little tune is for your "trouble".

  • "Thanks Keith", in past years I have done nine builds with Sound Boards on them, this is the first I've done the other way round.  (-:

  • "Thanks UJ", Yep!, correctamundo, very poor acoustic volume, same String and Scale GDg configuration I've used on quite a few my builds lately, but when this ones Amped up in GDg, it does have quite a Trebly sound to it, so now tuned down to FCf, which seems to suit it better!, :-)

  • AGP, that is nice. Have seen some people put a sound board on them, if building from the other side. But I like the cleans lines of this one.

  • Rosey good. AGP.   A bowl full of good.  I am guessing it does not have much acoustic volume but rocks plugged in.  Is that accurate?

I just had trouble with a mag pup too.  I had it about 2 cm or 3/4 inch (or maybe a tad bit more) below the strings and it just did not want to pick up the sound.   With the distance narrowed it started to work.   I need to finish that guitar.  Man, my last two builds have given me trouble!
