AGP #403 - ''3 Humdinger''

AGP #403 “Humdinger”(3 String Fretless Guitar)Scale: 654mm/25¾ inchesStrings: .044NW/.030NW/.020NW/Tuning: G D gThe fourth 25¾” Scale, 44NW/30NW/20NW/ Strung 3 String Guitar, I’ve done in the last 11 weeks, which!, I think all have as a good (or better!) Sound and Tone, as anything I’ve built before, and this one, #403 with the 3 Humbuckers and a 5-way Switch, seems to have taken it one level higher!.The Body is as usual, Recycled 19mm Solid Pine, the Neck is Recycled Grey Ironbark, and the Fretboard is Vine Patterned White Oak, all coated this time with Jarrah Stain and ‘Organ Oil Natural Wax & Polish’.The Humbuckers and their 5-way Switch combinations are: Neck 9.4k - Neck/Middle 4.3k - Middle 7.7k - Bridge/Middle 5.1k - Bridge 14.1k, the prewired 5-way Switch, Vol and 2 Tones setup was a Chinese Ebay purchase, which came with no wiring instructions of its own, so used a Fender Wiring Diagram, pretty sure I got right, but the Pups and the 5-way Switch, ended up being in reverse, the Neck Pup is in the Bridge position, and the Bridge Pup is in The Neck position Etc., but!, anyway it all works, which came as I bit of a surprise to me! :-D

  • "Thanks Ambrose", sharing building methods and materials etc., to my mind, is what it's all about, just in case someone might find the said info helpful, unfortunately some builders don't share my view on this, and keep their cards pretty close to their chest, and think they're in "Area 54" :-D
  • Good to see the internal side of things AGP. Very informative.

  • "Thanks UJ", after going through a bit of a building frenzy of doing 4 in a row, I too cleaned and organised my the shed into a much tidier state, and will try to resist doing some more builds for a while, and instead will make an effort to get some sound test videos done on these recent builds! :-)

  • "Thanxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Pick & Poorness"  :-) :-)

  • So cool!

  • Glad it sounds so good, Alan.  You are quite the slide master now.   Good, good look to it.

I have my shed all cleaned and I kind of feel like making something - but everything is so clean and organized!
