AGP #377 - ''1973 HJ Holden Number 3''

AGP #377 - “1973 HJ Holden Number 3”1 String Hubcap Diddley BowScale : 711mm/28 inches - String : .040NWTunings : A - G - FThe Hubcap is from a set of 5 1973 Holden 1 Ton Painted Hubcaps I purchased many years ago, this is 3rd one I’ve used so far!, stripped the paint off and buffed the Bare Metal to a shine, and gave it a couple of coats of Clear Gloss Enamel to prevent rusting, the Neck is Grey Ironbark and the Fretboard is Queensland Walnut, both recycled Timbers of course, and coated with “Organoil Natural Wax & Polish”, a 6.9k Delta Type Pickup is hardwired to the Output Jack.Thank you to ”Uncle John” for giving me the idea for this build, after seeing his recent post of the great “Hudson Terraplane” Diddley Hubcap Build, also a thank you to Dave Lynas, for giving me the idea for the way I mounted the Pickup, after seeing his latest build the “Lovely Minnesota Gal” Build.:-) :-)

  • "Thanks Denbo", Yep!, very happy with the Pickup Slot, a modified version of recent Dave Lynas Build!  :-)

  • "Thanks UJ", it was your "Hudson Terraplane", that was the inspiration for this one! :-)

  • "Thanks Poorness", this Diddley brings my total of Diddley Builds up to 16, 14 of which I still own!

    :-)

  • "Thanks Dave", done the slot head to use up the last of the 2 hole classic parlour type tuners I had, just ordered and another 12 cheapies I found on Ebay from China, so there will be a few more slot heads used in future builds  :-)
