AGP #306 - “Als Pal”(4 String Aluminium Guitar)Scale : 625.5mm / 24⅝inchesStrings : .032NW / .022NW / .017PS / .013PS /Tuning: G / D / G / B /The Body shape and size is of a Parlour Guitar dimensions, and obviously is made from Aluminium Checker Plate (rescued from a dumpster by one of my sons), the Old Lowe Cone was taken from a previous build (soon to be modified), the Neck is Grey Ironbark, the Fretboard is Forest Red Gum and a 6.1k Prewired Single Coil Pickup with Vol & Tone provides the noise, rushed to finish this one by Xmas Eve!, sounds fine, but still have a little bit of fine tuning to do ie; lower the string action and maybe fit with some heavier gauge strings. The weight of this one is identical to the Gal Roofing build “AGP #304” at 3.5kg. :-)

  • "Thanks Derek", the sound hole shape was largely determined by what was the easiest type to cut without out a lot filing etc!  :-D

  • "Thanks Erasmo", correct about the "Heavy Metal" description, just weighed my "Cheap Arse" store bought Telecaster to compare, and it came in at 3.7kg and I'm pretty sure the real Fender ones are heavier!  :-D
