AGP #248 - ''Hot Tinny''

AGP #248 - “Hot Tinny”(3 String Recycled Material Guitar)Scale : 622.3mm / 24½ inchesStrings : .032NW / .020NW / .014PS /Tuning: C / G / c /Like the previous build all timber is recycled (& free), neck is an unknown hardwood, box is Meranti, and the galvanised corrugated roofing iron was found at the dump. The Box & Headstock were given a touch up with the gas torch, the Box then coated with a Maple Stain with the Neck left au-natural, then all coated with a 50/50 Linseed Oil/Turpentine mixture.A 7 pole Ibanez Humbucker was fitted and created nothing but drama’s in the wiring. Had used this monster (Multi-Meter tested at 10k & 20K) in a previous build which was hardwired singularly to the Jack and sounded like crap, (swore I’d throw it away should have but! didn’t), after fitting to this one ended up reading 5k.

  • "Thanks  Bluesheart", I always like to include a few details about my various builds, after-all, they're not being built in "Area 54".

  • Great looking build and thanks for posting all the details too!

  • "Thanks  Uncle John", the saddle wasn't as hard to make as I thought it would be!!!!, Maddog's posted build a little while back inspired me to do this one, which has been on the Bucket List of builds to do ever since first seeing one, featured by Justin Johnson on one of his videos, while in the Land Of Aus, at Devil Guitars Tasmania.

  • "Thanks" the anonymous pickJim Morris, Yep!, I'm very happy with the look of this one.

  • Great look to it.  Nice job on that difficult to make saddle.   I like the galvanized roofing material.  Maddog did one or more with that.

  • Yeah! I like this.
