AGP #238 - ‘’N.S.P. No~2’’(3 String Shoveltar)Scale : 635mm / 25inchesStrings : ? / ? / ? /Tuning: G / D / g /A couple of my "Dear Old Dad's" shovels, that were languishing away, out of sight in the shed, the one on the left was his pride and joy, "always kept spotless", the one on the right I think may have been passed down to him by his father, (my grandfather), and as he did with all his tools and possessions, they have his initials N.S.P. mark on them somewhere, in this case chiseled into the handles, somehow I don't think he would have ever imagined them ending up as what is loosely described as in my world as "Shoveltar's', a 1 Stringer and a 3 Stringer, they'll hang proudly somewhere (if I can find a space) :-)

"Thanks Jim Morris", they didn't look that good until I cleaned them up, not sure if the oldies would approve or not???, in the land down under a Mattock is referred to as "Madmick" and the shovel is referred to as "Banjo" and is evident in song by Australia's legendary "Slim Dusty" called "The Beat of the Government Stroke" https://youtu.be/XhdiMTKFnYM
"Thanks Jerry Jordan", was a bit of a killer job, I think the steel was a bit tougher in the "Old Days", it was quite an effort to drill the necessary holes!!!!!!!
"Thanks Uncle John", I dig it also, as a young apprentice Bricklayer with my father, if you didn't wash and clean it properly at the end of the day, you may as well start digging your own grave with it Lol ;-)
