AGP #176 - ''Tiger Plank''

AGP #176 - “Tiger Plank’’(3 String Lap Steel Guitar)Scale: 736.6mm / 29 inchesStrings : .042NW / .030NW / .020PS /Tuning : GDGThis build was inspired by one of Maddogs lovely creations, his 1896 Mozart 3 String, however it was "one of those projects" where every time I touched it, I made a stuff-up, when finished, it was nothing like I originally envisaged.My ability on the Lap Slide is limited to say the least, but even though it appears to sound alright, it might get pulled apart in the future and transformed into something else????PS; the timber is from my reliable recycled Piano.

  • Thanks 'Jim',  I also can't play much in the horizontal position but, when my poor old worn out bricklayers left shoulder plays up, the Lap position is a bit kinder pain wise.

  • Thanks for the kind comment 'UJ' I think I'll keep it now!

  • Mine are never as envisioned!   Looks good to me, man.

  • I like that AGP! I can't play much in that horizontal position but this certainly looks good and playable. Good on you for the recycled piano.

  • Thanks 'Battmann', have a look at 'Maddog's' 1896 Mozart 3 String on the nation, it's a real treat!,

  • Thanks Jim in Tucson, I don't think they want the Piano??, I think they are after the 45 cents in coins, and the couple of guitar picks I found, that had fallen down behind the keys etc;

  • Very nice, as always, AGP.
    (You’re not going to like this, but the family that owned the piano called. They want it back.)

  • Looks great . you've inspired me try it also. I just did a couple diddley bows and thought  why not go 3 strings. now that I've seen yours  , I'll give it a go.
