  • Yup.  No hole.

  • I've got one coat of poly varnish on the cherry wood sound hole plug. I think she's done, but maybe later i'll add some more if i have the strings off her. I thought about a hole in it but decided i needed the structure of the plug to keep her from a cave in. A small hole might be ok, but she sounds great the way it is... just leave her alone, she's fine...
  • Yup, pup... Sounds so good you just have to pull her tail...
  • You new lady friend howls like a dog????    :)

  • Yes, sir.   What are you going to do with the wood in the sound hole., Dave?   Does not look bad as is.   Overall, looking real good.  Some years back, I bought an Alvarez mahogany 000 with a damaged top.  And I did to it what you have done here.   You, know?  I can not remember what I did with the former sound hole.   And the git is long sold and gone.

  • Wes, The cutout from the area for the resonator has a lot of fan bracing, two bolts through the classical bridge and not much area of wood to use. The bracing is tight to the wood and might split it. I might use that piece in a future build. I liked the cherry piece as it came from our yard in Duluth. The spruce under the cherry that braces the sound hole is Martin factory reject spruce. It's there for the Martin mojo.
