Classical guitar headstock sawed off

I sawed off the ornate top of the headstock so she'd look more like an old slotted headstock. The slots are too wide though. I'd need to ad some wood strips in the slots to make it look right. And old tuners too. I need to learn how to string a classical with metal strings. Mine are all over the place.

  • Thanks Uncle John, glad your discussion name didn't stick. I've never tried nylon strings on a reso. I like steel better. The steel strings are holding good in the classical tuners. Seems like giant holes compared to regular geared tuners, but they work fine. I've been playing this lady a lot since getting her strings on. She's a sweety... There's where my girls are. I'm glad they picked a feminine form for the guitar. Aren't you?
