Here's a place on our high street in Bearwood where I often drop by for tools and odds & ends. It's the sort of old school hardware shop that I remember from my childhood. I can stop by and spend 5 minutes looking in the window compiling a mental wishlist of all the tools and precious things that would come in handy (tho' what use I've got for a razor sharp 24" panga machette I'm not sure...). You don't see too many of these places these days, cheaper than the big outlets...and it's a local shop, for local people...

    ...and yes, its run by two grumpy old geezers in warehouse coats who know the difference between BSF and Whitworth threaded bolts. If they haven't got it, they can order it for you. It'll be the end of an era when it closes...when I come into my inheritance, maybe I can buy it and become one of those grumpy old geezers...
