5 String Banjo made from thrift store 10" tom-tom

$5 at the thrift store got me the drum intact with hardware and useable head. My friends cartoon prompted this build to restore order to the universe.

  • Thanks gary. Usually the thrift store drums are of real poor, kid type quality. I got lucky with this one. I always look for tambourines at thrifts and yard sales too. They make decent banjos if you remove the jangles.

    Yup Unc, This one's fretted since I made it with a friend in mind who doesn't play fretless.
