Never seen one but it looks similar to a Padron box I used ... the thing flat out sucked. Put a new box on it, new git!
I would have tried it w/out the holes first.
I have a couple of mandos built and only use 1 hole ... about the size of a quarter. I have some 4 string guitars that I don't have holes in.
What kibd of box are you using?
I added a 2nd, treble side sound hole to the mando trying to get a bit more volume and treble. The gain was small, but I do like the look. Those brass hole covers are 'laundry sink strainers' from a farm and hardware store.
