Yes, it is a homemade neck. The neck was a maple 1x4 and the fret board was an oak 1x4. I used a hand held circular saw and a hand held scroll saw and a 5 inch oscillating sander and a hand held electric drill. That's it on my power tools. The slots for the frets were cut with a coping saw. The cut to angle the head was made with a regular hand saw (you may remember them, they don't plug in and you move the saw back and forth with your hand and arm). The fret markers are from a poplar dowel rod.

Very good. Most folks building 6 string CBGs use a factory neck. I built my own once and it was about half as nice as yours.
