26 The Black Hole 4 Sept 2014

I recently sold a bunch of my favorite cigar box ukuleles at the "Uke New Jersey Too" Festival. When I got home I realized that I had nothing left to play. So, back to the work shop. This is a tenor uke I made from an Arturo Fuente box.NJTV News did a short segment on the festival. You can see my booth for about a second in the middle of the piece and you can see me with a customer again at the end.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOCV0stYlR4

  • I've built about six ukes using a bolt for a nut and I always use a zero fret. It's always worked out great.
  • That's a fine looking uke.
  • Hey, Rob.   I like the zero fret too.  I have a poorly done uke (made by me) that needs a few things to at least be a decent player.   I was afraid to use a bolt for a nut or saddle - thinking it would cut the strings.   Do you think  a bolt will work out?

  • That is just excellent.
