15", tuned AEa. .023, .016, .010 strings. Paint can lid "resonator", hinge tailpiece, slotted peghead, oak trim bridge. Paint lid hammered to convex shape. Guitar pick position markers. Painted with red exterior opaque wood stain.

  • The bridge is free-floating, so you can move it a bit to adjust your tuning. I hammered the paint lid to it was convex.
  • Hey, Juju, I should have known you'd know a way! When I was doing those ladles I used a friend's form he'd carved out of the butt end of a log -- sort of like a table and mold all in one. Pull up a chair and start hammerin! I'll try the sandbag idea -- we've got leftovers from laying a path.

  • a sand bag is good for shaping plate , them real leather ones are quite expensive , but the sand bag works just the same and it's cheap !

  • I should have pounded it even more! I made some hammered copper ladles once, and you really have to wail on those to get the shape. but then I had a mold into which I was pounding, and I didn't want to go that much trouble. Maybe next time!
