Thanks Uncle John, I've changed my mind about my bridge. I have a nice vintage lap steel hard tail to use but it's wider than my pickup, so the poles won't line up with the strings. I've changed gears and am making my own with part of a metal bridge and some Walnut and Padauk to make the string hold. Then things might line up better. I just got a relic Harmony lap steel body in the mail today which fits the bridge that's too wide, so I'm set for the next rebuild with that.
