  • It's gonna look great.  Give it time and it will play and sound great.  If it gets frustrating, put it aside for a while.   I love these old timers.   Hey,  maybe 'rustify' those tail piece parts.

  • Yeah maybe that too
  • I just put some felt under it last night. That is also a bigger bolt than I originally had in there because I thought the same about down pressure. I eliminated most of it but I am just not 100% happy with what I have. I was thinking about some hot glue also. I will be putting a little time into it this weekend. I'll definitely update when I figure it out
  • Heck, maybe just a bigger bolt for the saddle.

  • Could be too uneven under the wood bridge (rattle).  Putting down some hot melt glue under it could even it out.   Also, hard to determine from the pic, but you may lack down pressure on the saddle.   A spacer under the bridge and maybe the hot melt might raise things enough to cure the rattle and maybe add some sound volume.  Good wishes.

  • Thanks, yeah it needs something. I have a little excess "rattle" I'm still trying to eliminate. Thinking it's coming from the bridge. So once I figure that out it will get painted hahaha. Thanks for the input though. I also have had good luck with fake rust using paint I think that might be a good look for it.
  • Love the old box and rusty pan resonator.   The bolt or screw saddle kind of lags behind the rest.  I say loosen the strings, pull it out, cut it off and paint it or make it look rusty.   I've had good luck on the fake rust with barn red and black craft paint.

    Nice build.

  • Thanks!
  • love the box and pan.,.cool build.,.,
