metal photo slide box

Used a Dremel to cut out enough space for the neck to lay in the box. If you look close, you can see a slot in the neck right at the edge of the box. Lid closes into the neck slot, didn't have to cut metal edge.

  • Hi 'Rock: Yep, used my Dremel to clear out the middle. A very useful tool, especially for thin metal.

  • Thanks, all. Yessir AGP#, it is a cool box. Picked it up at a vintage flea market. Lady had several metal boxes, and this one was the right size. I opened it up, saw the metal frame for the slides and said "oh oh", this won't work. The nice lady said "Yeah, that's what everyone says. How about $2.00?". Well, for $2.00 I could put the Dremel to the middle and make a slot for the neck. And here I am with a steel bodied git. I might just keep my eye out for another! The finished product isn't mush for acoustic playin', but the single coil brings it to life. I'm keeping this one for myself......unless, you know, someone just insists on buying it!

  • have you tried the "dremel tool" by Wen? Received mine last week and love it

  • "Nice"!, just used an exact same box on a recent build, and sounds great!

  • Cool bet it will sound nice.

  • Hunh.   Interesting.   Nice slot and strong build.
