thank you Rick, your feedback is always an inspiration to do better. Marcus thanks but i doubt im the one who invented this method. a couple other things to remember , the wipeoff is criticle. I use a clean rag wrapped on my finger tip and take off the excess immidiatly and wipe to the sides so it dosent bleed to the fret lines and across to the other unstained parts and i didnt stain the sides of the board so it gets sharpish toward the edges too. once it dries then rub it out with olive oil , well thats what i use on my fret boards , first coat make sure it dosnt bleed . then you can keep layering it . have fun and good luck . p.s. do the q.tip pre coffee lol, dont ask me how i know hahahah
J,Lee absolutly, nothing better than my kitchen and coffee for building my gittys . thanks Pick thought youd dig dual hot rodded gold foils with a rod piezo ta boot just for shites and giigles . Marcus , its a fret board for a slider so no fret wire. i just cut the slots with a regular trim saw not a fret saw, and stained with a q tip and a steady hand. i put the stain in the middle of the square and work out so it dosent run to the grain and out the edges . I practiced a little on a scrap of hte fret board to see how close to the edge i could get and how far the stain would soak out . thats it if thats what you were wondering about ?
