Perhaps, but in this instance, I felt the visual balance trumped the practical. I think it would have appeared too 'crowded' down in that corner with the tax stamps and graphics converging there. As a finger style player, the knobs aren't at all in the way. If one were a 'strummer', their placement might be an issue, might not. So it goes.

Vintage good. I thing the controls would be better and more out of the way down nearer the tail piece. Very nice box and build.
