Adjustable Neck - Wichita Sam

I'd heard around CBN that Sam is a top builder. So I was glad to sit down and talk with him, sample his guitars and hear him play. Sam is GOOD!This is a paint lid reso build with bolt on neck. The bolts or screws can be loosened and 1 or more guitar picks stuck in the neck slot to change neck angle and string height/ action.Sam puts a big glob of silicone (I think) over piezos. He had a good explanation of why - which I forgot.

  • Ya, my wiring always looks like maleria germs and the pots look like a robot threw up the solder, or somewhat like a fried egg on the shiny side. The washer jack mount sounds like a good idea.
  • Dave, he broke the yolk on my sunny side up!   The tail is strengthened too.   Another interesting thing he does is use big washers for jack mount plates.  Seems to work well and look good.  Probably not fun to drill.   I've kind of forgotten just how they looked.  You can see it a bit there.   Oh!  I did not notice how nice the wiring is.  Shrink wrap maybe?
