Here's an all antique diddley bow build that I just completed. A local antique shop is having a "Repurposed Antique" contest. As soon as I found out, I put this together. Everything except one bolt and the guitar string is an antique. The box I got at an estate sale, the neck is an old broom handle, and the tailpiece is an old window shade bracket. The old rusty hardware really adds to the look of this one. I did have to reinforce the inside with oak and wood glue. The string is a low E string. I have the scale a bit long (30"), it sounds more like a bass. I think I might cut off 6 inches from the neck, or use a thinner string.
