Well, good plan. Even new black tuners would be fine. Or age some new white ones. I would go ahead and use a piezo and get one of Gitty's combination strap button/jacks - that would camouflage it being electrical. I would do that for versatility and for my style of playing - maybe not yours. Would also consider putting poly or something to preserve the paint. This could make a wondrous relic guitar.
If I do make a CBG with it, the style would be very primitive. I would want to find some vintage tuners from that era, and use an aged, weathered broom handle for a neck. And make it purely acoustic.
