Friends, be careful with those tools when you're doing it yourself, or you may find yourself unexpectedly learning a new DIY skill. Like how to stitch yourself back together in the middle of the night while your family is sleeping.

    Thanks for posting this. It migh help me to slow down and preserve my fingers for playing. I shaved some skin off my index finger with a chisel a couple of months ago. I made a vow after that too always clamp down my work and keep both hands on the chisel. Maybe I'll hang this photo over my bench just to remind me.

    I stitched it myself which is why it looks like crap, but it's tricky to sew with just one hand.

    That IS funny Ted! I actually tried to record a video so i could share ALL the grisley details... but my battery ran out before I even got one stitch done. By the way, your cut is gnarly! I'm surprised superglue did the trick. I'm gonna remember that next time!

    I really did Diane. At first I thought some whiskey might make things go easier... but i figured i'd be better off sober and without thinned blood.

    Dang man! I caught my thumb like that not too long ago. Nothing hurts so bad as a slipped chisel
