  • Hi Toad , in response to your post back in April My amps are Lm386 chip amps. If you have not built one yet try on or Gitty's amp kits. If you want to build one use a smoke amp plan or a Ruby amp plan if you want volume and gain controls. Here is a pic of the inside of my amps.

  • Howdy Harley. I designed the nail pickups on the Logjammer a bit different to what your doing. To go down your route with the single poles, I'd remove all the poles from the bobbin then get some slightly longer ones, fit the bobbin under the lid then push the new poles through making sure they come in contact with the magnet. Hope this helps, let us know how you get on.

    Yes, I tried it those many months ago. I got the same result as you. Rather diminished sound. I wonder if a larger pot would change things? Anyway, it did not give the satisfaction I wanted.  You could also try Jim Junksville. He did this build:http://www.cigarboxnation.com/photo/the-loggjammer-log-guitar-with-...

    The concept seems there.
