Coming to the UK in mid-February...

Hey all,

I'll be vacationing in London in mid-February. I was wondering if there are any CBG-related events/concerts/meet-ups scheduled? I'd love to participate, seeing as not even a Christmas trip stopped me from planning out future builds and scouring hardware stores...

    Helpful advice John - I am hoping to get a play on Sunday - there were some serious looking musos last month but they were pretty mediocre when they did their thing - fingers crossed some groovin on a CBG will wake them up

    If you are doing an open mike, make no apologies, no excuses...just turn up the wick and take no prisoners. Play with confidence and conviction in what you are doing and give it 100%.  Make sure your guitar sound is going to be good - take your own amp if necessary, or a pedal that you know will give you your sound thru another amp or PA... and take no crap from the sound man.     As you can see from the responses, London is a bit of a barren area when it comes to cbg, so it might be a bit of problem getting people together down here. But I'm still up for a beer, and if you're interested, me & Pyno are planning a trip out to Kent on 18th Feb. We're going to a rock open mic night and are gonna try to rock them cbg-style. It could be good or we could die! (great way to go though.) If you wanna come - we'll sort out the travel.

    Many thanks for the invite, John, but I won't be able to make it to Birmingham...I have a quite a lot to see in Liverpool. Some of the destinations, I've wanted to visit for almost 20 years. (You can probably guess why I'll be visiting that particular city...!)

    Yes please! Let's set something up, and open it to the other fellows on this thread... We had a Chicago-area pub meet-up of CBG builders in November, and it was a really good time. It's nice to share advice and discuss builds in person!

    Brickdust,

    I believe the 27th is a Sunday...? At any rate, from the morning of Friday the 25th to the morning of the 27th, I will be in Liverpool. And on the 28th, I will be flying back to the States.
