Hi folks, I thought I would share my new build which is my first attempt at a solid body electric.
The body is pine. I looked into buying ash at first but it was just too expensive for a first try. I ended up buying an 18mm thick laminated knotty pine shelf and glued 2 halves together.
The scale length is 630mm, 3 strings. I used jumbo frets for the first time and really like them!
The strings are routed through the body and the neck is bolt on.
Hand wound humbucker @ 7.3k ohm, volume and tone. The bridge is made from anodised aluminum angle.
Hope you enjoy!

How is the pine body? I can buy 1/2" pine boards at home depot an cut the neck slot and pickup and other cavities in one piece and clue a solid piece to the bottom. This way i won't have to route them. 1" seems like a good thickness.
It worked out great Bob. The only problem is that i's very easy to dent ad scratch. I built mine in much the same way. Good luck!
Sweet build!!!
NICE !
Great build...
