Hi good people..I'm totally clueless at this recording lark. but as I seem to spend a lot of time in front of a computer that seems to have far more ability than I do in terms of recording stuff, I thought I'd give it a go.
My technique consisted of opening "GarageBand", clicking and dragging repeatedly until something happened...and I just sat and played acoustically in front of the computer and let the mic pic up the sound. It took a good hour or so to put together a minute long track. There's loads wrong with it, and I'm sure I'm barely scratching the surface of what the software will do.

More please.
that's GREAT John...basic and gritty sounding, but spaced out and trippy at the same time, love it!! Certainly doesn't sound clueless.
Well, as regards knowing what I'm doing with GarageBand, I really am clueless....but that doesn't stop me from having a go. Just like making guitars...take some raw materials and meddle about until it makes some sort of pleasing noise...same sort of principle...a lot of serendipity and a disdain for convention seems to work.
just had another listen..it's like Olds Sleeper on acid!!
lmao your a funny man..... this is good shit. Gotta fly off to work but will thow some percussion at it tonight.
Well it sounds like either someone who is totally clueless trying to do something straight or someone who has a great flare for doing something weird and wonderful. I'm not convinced you're clueless John! I really like what you've done, my kinda clueless :)
