  • Sorry the quality wasn’t up to snuff A.D. We are pretty much at the mercy of Zoom and the Internet. My goal is to capture a couple of songs from the 15 we play at our most recent meeting that I haven’t posted.

Our bass guy, Aaron, should be back in action on Monday and with the new CB bass I made for him!
  • Thanks Ambrose! I thought both the Old Crow and D Rucker versions were both good.
  • this is the first time ,you have some distorted rumble in your recording? it takes the pleasure out of the tune ! fine strum! No bass guy this time!

  • A fine "Slinger" rendition Doug.  I've heard the D Rucker version.

  • I can always count on you for the storied history of a song Kale! And this one obviously has one. I watched the Old Crow Medicine Show and Darius Rucker versions on YouTube and went with Old Crow. One of our new Slingers requested the song and I think he made an excellent choice, and then I got to work.
  • Such a great song. The story behind this song is insane. Not sure if you've heard it but Bob Dylan wrote it in the 1970's and never finished it. Apparently he heard Old Crow Medicine Show circa 2003 and asked the singer to help him finish the song. Old Crow Medicine Show recorded/released it and then Nathan Carter (UK artist) covered it. Darius Rucker heard the song and decided he needed to cover it circa 2012. That's the version most people know despite the fact that it was originally written in the 70s.

  • Glad to hear it Uncle John! The song is growing on me as I get more comfortable with it.

  • Nice.  I like this song.
