  • I agree Derek! It went into the songbook Slingers Songbook today. Turns out it was in the HUG songbook, so I updated it for 1-finger CBGslinging. I will be playing it off the HUG chart on my CBG at the Spokane Ukestra Zoom meeting next week. I’ll do it with the Slingers at the next opportunity! Thanks for featuring it here at CBN.

  • Thank you, Andries, great to hear from you! Glad it sparked some good memories. Music is great that way :)

  • Thank you for the kind comments, John. This is one I have played on and off over the years though this is the first time that I remember recording it.

  • Thank you, Doug. I can imagine the Slingers doing this one, right in your wheelhouse!

  • Thank you, Brian :)  Another buddy of mine said the same thing about Alex Chilton, so I will definitely check out his other music.

  • Thank you, Kale. This is one I like to play on the back deck on a baritone uke but too cold and snowy out there now!

  • Love this one, Derek.  Heard it on FB and glad to listen again.  Good song,. good play and vocals.   Sounds real and honest.   I like.

  • Welcome back!!! What an outstanding selection Derek, and you nailed it (as usual). Don’t have this one in our Slinger’s Songbook, and I’m asking myself why. It’s a great song.

  • Great version Derek!! The beginnings of a favorite of mine? (Alex Chilton) Good to see ya!! :)
