New original Christmas season song. Played on a 4 string cbg plugged into a Walrus SLÖ reverb pedal and a Fender Acoustasonic 90 amp, with some delay.

  • Thank you very much, Bob! Happy New Year!

  • One of your best Derek!  Like the reverb.  It works out great with finger picking. Have a great year Derek!

  • Thank you everyone for the kind comments. Making me smile!

Have been listening to a lot of Pogues of late, so aside from my own hangover experience(s!) had this "drinking" song-missing home-Christmas idea "buzzing" around in my head ;-)

Uncle J, I wished I would have learned that lesson too, instead of in my 30's. Like and occasional sip too.

Very kind of you Carl and Alan!

Thank much for the kind comments Andries! Recently go this new reverb pedal and it has been fun monkeying with the settings. Between "work from home" and being home on vacation I have been in the company of my instruments a lot and each one seems to spark some idea or direction for something. Happy Holiday season!

Thank you Doug. I was initially thinking the song was going to be funny, but then it turned on me LOL

Dave, it can be poisonous for certain. And I had more than my fair share of playing with fire! Lucky I didn't get completely burned, only lost some eyebrows :) I am addicted to minor chords. Thank you for the great comments.

Thank you Kale. The acoustic amp has good reverb and other effects so I used the delay from the amp and the new Walrus reverb. It has a cool "rise" setting where the reverb swells in.

Thank you Nancy, I love Jim Croce! Learned to play guitar by learning his songs. Love the picture and Colleen loved it too! Always great to hear from you :)

  • Oh so lovely Derek! Has a Jim Croce feel to it.... you can sure can capture an audience with your vocals and lyrics..   Meowww^..^8353192688?profile=RESIZE_710x

  • Some really nice chords and that delay-verb is sounding perfect.

  • Cheer in a Minor key. “ A Cup of Poison my Darling?” very ominous and well sung. Your 4 string sounds beautiful Derek.

  • Sober, reflective song. Picking really worked well with the chord progression. I liked it. Food for thought!

  • That was "Magical "Derek! sweet sounding four! fine chords , just the right amount of reverb ! Nice  vocals whit that low end final reverberation !  jour getting masterfull whit those lyrics by your own hand,

a real topper that one ,feeling home ,in your playroom must bee helpfull even thow its a god forsaken town !  smiles at ye bro ! dont drink to much and ease in there  that 21  thats is! to you and your loved ones ! stay  healthy and safe 1 im listning !
