Sunday Drive With Katy

Collaboration with Jamie MacBlues who wrote the lyrics (and sings them) to my cigar box banjo tune! The visuals don't really do justice to the depth and sensitivity of the lyrics, though. Enjoy the video, but then try replaying it with your eyes closed. Jamie's a great songwriter!

  • Sunday Drive With Katy (Tood toon, Jamie lyric)
1.There's some clouds riding high, but we just drive on by
Now the sun dances clear in a blue sea sky
There's a river of trees , and a forest of bees
And a hint now of God in the soft summer breeze
And I hear a voice that says " all is right
Find your light in this world"
She smiles, and I hold her tight
    Chorus
I'm just out drivin', I'm just out drivin',
I'm just out drivin', with Katy

    2. There is joy in the sound, of this world spinnin' 'round
And the songbird he laughs, at a secret not found
We are given this free , no contract or fee
But the simplest of gifts can be hardest to see
And as one candle shines in the darkest night
    Reaching out to each soul
There's the highway, now home's in sight

    Chorus
I'm just out drivin', I'm just out drivin',
I'm just out drivin', with Katy

    3. Clouds riding high, but we just drive on by
Now the sun dances clear in a blue sea sky
There's a river of trees , and a forest of bees
And a hint now of God in the soft summer breeze
Clouds riding high, but we just drive on by.......
