Thanks Uncle John! I find that some songs speak to me differently when I play them instead of just listen to them. This is one of those songs.
Nice. I used to be a big Jackson Browne fan. Still like him. The album with this song was great.
Your comments are spot on A.D.! You can’t play this one 1-finger style without some advance preparation (practice!). There is some serious movement up and down the fretboard. The chords are correct for the singing part, but I did doctor the instrumental run in the middle to match the intro and fiddled a little with the chord progression ending the lines in the last section. (I’m claiming “no rules” for arranging/playing here!) With practice the big jumps up and down the fretboard get easier and actually become fun. To traditional first position guitar players they are probably a nightmare.
Thanks Kale! It is fun to play and I really like the lyrics, they just speak to me.
it looks easy ! but its way harder to follow the person that knows the tune , and the changes on the neck dont seem logic whit the sung lyrics, and only one chord got away from you, Believe the slingers had a hard time folloing that one ! But you Doug make it look so easy !
Great tune Doug. Looks like its a fun one to play.
