  • I just read that he uses what he calls "Crossnote Spanish" tuning, which goes B-E-B-E-G#-B, from bass to treble (at least approximately, because I also read he tunes by ear to suit his voice).
  • @Mark. I thought i saw a D chord in there but i could be wrong. Thought it might be std or perhaps yes, an open tunung

  • Other vids of that on youtube as well.

  • Looks so simple but it takes somethings special to make it sound that good.

Anyone have any idea what tuning he's using? Looks like he's doing the droning bass thing on the A string but it sounds like E to me. Of course, I could be tone deaf (which would explain a lot of things).

  • That was the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Nice guitar too. Quilted maple sides (?)

  • Brilliant - a lot to learn from that
  • This is a lesson for us all....great
  • my kinda flava-the never changing droning bass string-the little licks rising an falling-it all puts you in the alternate consciousness blues trance-simply add whisky to enhance, shake your skinny white ass and dance.Yessir.
  • Love this guy's technique.........droning on the A string, and barely venturing outside the first three frets. Such a lot is achieved with so little!
