  • great song, great rendition. Hey I built my first 3 string last week and have been practicing, I will learn how to play... lol
  • Thanks everyone:-)!!!! I saw a cool PBS special on Johnny Cash in which he visited his very humble childhood home. The best thing to ever happen to him was June Carter...;-)  I came to a conclusion my bronchitus was triggered by allergies to TREE pollens (we are surrounded by many trees, lots of mature cedar, right where we live)...allergies and asthma has run on both sides in my family, my mom  suffered all her life with the same very very likely "trigger" and not a SINGLE doctor she visited ever suggested she should see an allergist:-(  she always related to them in her records that her aunt died at age 45 from Asthma --she sensed a familial connection. In her later years, I went with her and asked the Drs myself, what about allergies????still no referral, not one doc admitted there could be a link.  My mom's dad was a lumberman(sales), and she grew up in "Company" houses all over CA...Mill towns were built for the mill workers, and their families..towns always built very near the lumber mills, in the forest, of course...My Dad's Dad had asthma, and lived in a heavily treed farming area .his cough went away each summer, on a 2 week vacation to the Oregon coast!....I wound up with a form of pneumonia this time, and why the sore ribs (MY diagnosis, I shun the DR)...I happened to get all these "clues" --including finding a local online pollen count which spiked at the same time we all got hit, and I finally put a "big picture" together, did alot of online research...last home I lived at, my sons and I were very sick each fall, November usually...we had a huge male deodor cedar , two giant valley oaks, a black walnut, a mulberry all within 20 feet of the little farmhouse --these variety are all on the "severe" allergen list of trees..had other trees there, too (at the time, I suspected it was oakleaf mold affecting us )..it always starts with a sore throat, then almost always (for me) a total loss of voice, then boom--straight to the lungs, a 3-4 day progression--followed by a serious cough that lasted always 1-2 months...I feel really bad that my Mom never got "help"or relief....she did get "categorized" as having COPD, was earmarked as an ex smoker, also prescribed 150 $ inhalers and steroids that caused her to have two complete collapses in her final years of life.(that's another story) .I think a lot of people are affected by TREES and don't know, never make the connection ..worse yet, they go to the DR, get diagnosed as having a virus and out comes the paper and pen(bread and butter for the md)--they get a round of antibiotics,,,,(not GOOD--antibiotics are for BACTERIAL infections, not colds!!)....that's why I share my longwinded tale and info...maybe it will make a connection for someone else, if it makes a single connection, I'm very happy....(funny, national news JUST now talked about this mimicking of allergies/viruses)...... my ancestors believed in Whisky as a medicine......:-) so do I! LOL  ...thanks for listening;-)
