  • Hey Guys,thanks for the comments and encouragement,I'm currently having a go at Townes Snake Song, if all goes well and I feel happy with it I'll upload that too,in the next couple of days or so.

  • Very nicely played. Super tone from that guitar.

  • Nice!!! :)

  • Russell,

    I do know Townes' version, which is a lot slower, and a lot more wistful, and doomed. And you definitely made this your own, rocking it up. It has a more swampy sound the way you do it, and is spooky in its own way, with a lot more moss hanging from the trees. You're getting a great tone from your git. I like this.

    Just a suggestion if you do decide to re-record it (assuming you decide to record to a computer or other device, and not a camera), and something I noticed with myself the last couple of songs I recorded: we're so enamored with the sound of the guitar itself that we tend to give it prominence in the mix. Try to boost the vocals a tad so they stand out a bit more over the git.

    And if you don't wanna, don't. This can stand on its own as is.

  • Thanks John, I'd never heard this until a few days ago and I couldn't get it out of my head,apart from the chords and lyrics it hasn't a whole lot in common withTownes version, but I feel i've made it my own.

  • Russell, I don't know Towne's version.   I like yours.   Linda got a Townes CD in the male today.  :}
