Phono Guitar 3 String

Here's a rough quick test of my 3 string Phonoguitar... it's rather directional...so you dont get the full sound unless your directed to the phono horn....Now fitted with a kettle handle leg rest!

  • yum yum  ..  how'd  i  miss this  . :-D  you so  hony !

  • Yup, post this one on the CONCRETE MUSIC site!

  • Huh!   I agree with Clock.  It looks like a cross between a diddley and a blunderbuss.  Looks cool.

Quiet, though.  I think you are on the right track, but you need a sound box for more volume.

  • yeah man- steampunk styling.

  • The sound is really nice - somewhat bell-like. If you were to put a mic. in the horn and connect to an amp - whooo.

  • wow cool at least your getting sound out of the horn. Have you tried bowing it yet. By the look of it you just have the bridge connected right to the resonator. Maybe the resonator is too small to give a strong sound. But a thumbs up on your work so far.

  •    Neat-o!  Looks like a cross between a blunderbuss and a diddleybow...

  • I have never heard the real uke deal. I have only heard the violin model. I would assume you get a lot more energy bowing a string then simply plucking it. I am quite excited to see you taking on this project. My initial thought is that you have to make sure you are not losing energy from the strings to the diaphragm. Are you sure everything is working correctly? Did this come off a functional phonograph? I came across this online:  http://www.victrolarepairservice.com/ Possibly you can contact them and pick their mind. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. Enjoy.

  • cool man! i was waiting to hear this!
