Muddy Roots Europe Campsite Jam

A little Jam at Muddy Roots Europe 2013, video courtesy of Adam Smith. I'm not usually one for posting non CBG stuff, but I just wanted to show a little flavour of what it's like at this great little roots music festival. I'd taken my cigar box guitar shop on the road, riding shotgun with Hollowbelly to meet up with our Dutch, Belgian, UK and German buddies in a field just outside Bruges. I'd never played the banjo before, and had it thrust upon me by Lone Wolf (the American guy in the foreground, who earlier in the day had been on the stage in his one man band persona). Also playing is Sonny Wheeler (from Mack Drietens) on bass, and Jayke Orvis (Jayke Orvis and The Broken Band) on mandolin. These guys were headline performers, but were just chilling out on the campsite, enjoying a good time with the other festival goers. If you've never been to an event like this, I'd really encourage you to do it...pack your tent and cigarbox guitar, buy a ticket and head out to the wide blue yonder. There's a big friendly world of music out there beyond your sitting room walls...reach out and shake it by the hand!

If Muddy Roots (the original USA edition) is anything like as good as the Europe one, I'd advise all you good people stateside to get your tickets and head on over to Cookeville Tennesse on the weekend of 30th August -1st September. I've just had a look at the lineup..lots of great American and European acts.
