I wasn't satisfied with the vocal to Swampy ratio on the first try. So here is another try, a 2 take wonder.Matchbox Blues ~ by Blind Lemon JeffersonI’m sitting here wondering will a matchbox hold my clothes. (x2)I ain’t got so much to carry, but I got so far to go.I wouldn’t mind marryin’. But I can’t stand settling down. (x2)Gonna make like a preacher... Roam from town to town.I got a girl cross’ town but all she do is coochie around. (x2)She don’t stop coochin’... I’m leavin’ town.I’ll leavin' this town and her crying won’t make me stay. (x2)The more she cry, the more she drive me away. (x2)How far to the river? Wanna walk down by the sea. (x2)Tadpole and minnows... all over me.

  • That is a wicked guitar! Huge sound too!

  • Thanks, Patrick!

  • Wonderful dirty ditty UJ!!!

I see Frosty's arm is still intact :-)

  • Thanks, Jim.  You were my fave of what I sampled on line from York.  Will check out your Swampy vid..

  • Good one Unc. The vocals are real cool and up front on this one. I just finished a Swampie tune and it was a 10 or 12 take wonder.

  • That's always the solution Uncle John! Basement, overflowing to all other rooms of the house too :D

  • Thanks, Bear.   I think the solution is a basement den FULL of guitars.

  • Maybe you need a double neck guitar, Uncle John? Fretted and unfretted in the number of strings of choice. I might have a go at that myself after I've done the couple I'm almost set up to do. I hope you find the solution anyway. Best of fortunes with it!

  • Yup, Gary.  I think I will leave Swampy alone.  I could add frets to my fave LPG and I sure consider it from time to time.   But one of the cool things about fretless is how much we can do without frets!   I seem to wish for a git that does everything I want, but that is not going to happen,  I just need about six different setups and tunings to do all my songs!

  • Not that I'd recommend modifying your Swampy, but it would seem that adding frets to your 4-string LPG should be do-able?   I understand where you're coming from on this issue.   I've enjoyed making some simple diatonic-fretted canjos and gitties, then miss being able to play some of the songs I know which use flats and sharps!
