I recently found the DIY Mountain Dulcimer Kit from Jaromin. I decided I need to build one. During this video, I put it together and play dulcimer for the first time. This is a really neat kit.

Is That you on your Mountain Banjo ?? and did you use a piezo?
Umm... I'm not quite ready to attempt that one yet John.
Thanks, Kale. Can you please post a video of yourself playing 'Stairway to Heaven' on the dulcimer?
Sounds like you had a good experience on that first build John. Thanks for checking this one out.
That thing looks and sound pretty! And EEe Lectric. And a good name! First inster munt I ever built was as lap dulcimer.I did not know then how or if I could buy strings and tuners on line. This was back circa 1995 and I think Lincoln was president. I found a luthier and bought some used frets and tuners. The dulcimer came out about a C-. So it was one of the best things I ever did!!
I just painted the neck, fretboard and FLAT toothpick frets on a dulcimer tuned CBg two string inspired by Matt Borczon and his banjo. . Round toothpicks did not work out well, but the flat ones seem good. Hope to string it up in a couple days. Got submarine races for tomorrow, so not tomorrow.
Thanks Matthew. I think it's gonna be a lot of fun.
great video!! I like the sound of that!!
Thanks Doug. I think it's gonna be a fun instrument to experiment with.
Cool build Kale! Looks great with the red body. Mountain dulcimers are one the quiet side, so the pickup is essential if you want to play with other instruments. Good call on that mod! Looks like a fun project.
