I get nostalgic for a little place by a country river. Vocal mix not so great, but I like the CBG!

  • Thanks Derek, very nice comments! Glad I posted it, received a lot of helpful ideas on slide techniques that I'll put to use. Live presentation needs work, I like the obscurity of studio work! It'll come along, practice pra...! Thanks very much!
  • Singing and sliding sound great Richard! Good song and nice feel. Enjoyed it!

  • Thanks Andries, lot of good ideas to digest and fiddle around with. I'll start with the easiest and that's trying to find a child's bow or used one someplace. Lots of good info here, thanks so much for your time and detail.
  • Well whit bows,i tryed to do a couple,me self, and it comes down to the wax what you need to get the strings to vibrate, i used torn out nylon rope ,and cotton, whit the wax it works but horse tail hair is what a Original bow is made of, if you can get a hold of that there are a loads of way's to get the Job done, whit seal lacker and clamp it in say a clothes hanger, or metal wire, myself i ended up buying a childrens violin bow they are way cheaper then a real bow and they do the job just as well, but as i said wax thats what does the Job, but you shoud ask Jim he is the fiddle man and know all about Bows!. thanks for asking and hope you can work it out greeeeetss zz A.D.

  • Thanks James! This is a nice electric built for me by DMR Cigar Box Guitars, Dennis over there.
  • Jim, what do I know anyway! They dont make an electric slide! .....you think that's going to get me off the hook with Andries! That's a good idea of a slide demo video. We need a phD in slide technique...JIM!
  • Good job sounding good Richard nice looking guitar

  • Thanks Dave! I was happy with the guitar, but the vocals not so much. I've been in the habit of recording songs a track at a time. Get the guitar track just right, then the vocal, and so on. I know that's what playing live is, putting it all together. I did some pretty good vocals, but guitar suffered. I decided to go with guitar, please ignore my very bad Dave Mathews improv Ha! I'll have to learn to chew and tap at the same time.
  • LOL, on the vibrating slide comment. That finger mute technique is a bit hard to get at first but I've been doing it long enough that I had to think it through to try and describe it. Maybe someone needs to do a demo video for folks just getting into slide playing.

  • Wow, smooth tone Richard. Love the sound of your guitar. Mesmerizing.
