  • This is one i remember hearing on the radio many years ago - my mum was a fan of JR and used to swoon at the "way down low" bit...he heee.....nicely done John! (-:

  • Yours ta use, Unk ;)

  • Jamie, I was thinking it could be good in a song.

  • Ps ya can have it as a song title, if ya want :)

  • Cheers, Unk. Re ma statement: just wrote it, have  not said before. Don't think ah heard it before. Just seemd appropiate, sumd up how ah feel. ah guess. Ta again for singing this, ah've had some sad, but NICE thoughts :)

  • Owl, Bouquet Of Roses is sure a pretty song.  I know Eddie Arnold did it.  Don't know about Jim Reeves.  I tried it and might try to do it as a vid sometime.  Thanks!  Bigger thanks in that while looking at Bouquet, I found some other old country classics which I may give a whirl.

Thanks Jason.  That was acoustic.  That old box is sweet.  Seems to like GDG and ADF# tuning.  Once tried it DGB and did not sound as good.  I was afraid I played this song too simply (that's me).   But I guess it worked.

    Thanks Crisn (Bug)

Jamie.   Sorry about your momma.  Glad you can sing her old song now.  The ones that make us cry are the best songs we can do - if we can get to where we can do em' without tears.

Love your statement, " Time does NOT heal.  It only soothes a little."

  • Nice one, Unk/ Ah lost ma mum in 1980. She used ta sing Jim Reeves songs at family parties. Still got her on audio cassette, singin Jim Reeves and others. Break ma heart ta listen, so ah don't! Could not even hear this song without gettin upset for first few years. But NOW sing it maself at times. Time does NOT heal, it onkly "soothes a little. The circle WON'T be unbroken, if all is as it should be, But who knows, not me lol. Thanks for singin ma mammies song :)
