Here's the way I make pretty well all my guitar necks. Glueing on a "backstrap" is essential to give the neck sufficient strength to cope with being cut to fit into the box and have notches taken out of it for pickups.

When I've got the time I'll do more videos..but I've never got much time!! We get quite a lot of our timber as odds and ends from our local sawmill in Birmingham and re-saw and plane to size. Our other planed stock comes from an online supplier, but we order 100 or 200 board metres at a time. They have a pretty hefty minimum delivery charge of around £30, so that makes it only worth buying from them if you are buying in bulk.
Help upon help! You're a star John. Is it cheeky to ask where you get your sawn wood from in the thickness you mention? I buy mine on ebay at the moment from a company called Poppyhillwood. I got lucky finding them and even though I've only bought one bulk lot from them it's been as straight as I could have asked for. I'm sure buying wood sight unseen on ebay probably isn't advisable but they were around 20 or 30 percent cheaper than the timber merchant I visited locally. If you wish to share your source that would be awesome but I also understand the bare faced cheek of asking outright so no worries if not. Thanks again for the tips. Much appreciated and a great help.

Thanks CBJ.... Can you do a video on how you do the radius on the back of your necks?
Thank you CBJ!
