This is the first of a series of videos on how to make a cigar box guitar. Whether you are making a guitar from scratch or from one of our kits, we aim to show you the basic techniques and methods, point out handy hints and tricks and give advice about tools and materials. We have unrivalled experience and knowledge about making cigar box guitars, and want to pass this on, to make the process of building your guitar easier and more fun. The neck of a cigar box guitar is the most important part in terms of getting it playable, so we will guide you through all the steps and processes. In this first part we show the basics of taking a timber blank and setting it out to fit your box and how to glue on a "backstrap" to make sure your guitar neck is robust and fit for purpose.
