I remember the Cardiacs, they used to wear make up so they looked like reflections in the back of a spoon. Mad as a bag of spanners. Is Mr Chudley a member? He can certainly bang out a tune, and quite unlike one I've heard before!
Chudders is a marvel... claimed never to have played much slide before i thrust this into his arms and gave him five minutes to come up with something for me to film! A real natural player... comes from a prog-punk background, weirdly! Do you know the Cardiacs?
The tuners being where they are has strangely never been a problem... I've never seen anyone knock one out of tune that way... worst case scenario, you might snag a jumper-thread on the string ends! :-)
The headstock (tailstock?) is angled backwards to give the correct angle at the bridge, so they are quite neatly tucked away...

Nice sound. And interesting playing. Inspiring
PS. I remember going to see Cardiacs back in the 80s - true originals.
Yeah, sounds like them! I stumbled into a semi-secret Cardiacs gig not knowing anything about them in 1988... kinda freaked me out!!!!
Dan was in Monsoon Bassoon; their other guitarist Kavus Torabi went on to play for Cardiacs proper until Tim's recent tragic... erm... cardiac ... :-(
