  • I fully concur A.D. with your observations. Songs with a steady rhythmic strum are better for beginners and Zoom meetings. We have songs of varying difficulty in our songbook.  I do my best with the songs the Slingers choose and this is one of them. Surprisingly, beginners often choose difficult songs they may never be able to play (we like what we like). I do think they learn from their choices. Fortunately, we had other songs that were much easier to play on Monday!

  • Simon and Garfunkel are fun, but sometimes difficult. Thanks for watching Kale.

  • When you play it slow like this whit those smal tempo changes ,it must be verry hard to follow , you say you will ease the mind , but it was verry hard to follow, believe when you do this in a steady rhytmic strum its much easyer for a beginning strummer to follow, you yourself are a veteran interpreter of these song and sing em well . but copying you instantly on zoom is a tuff task to do ! even if they are one fingerchords.

  • You can't go wrong with slinging some Simon. Nice work Slingers.

  • I agree Uncle John! The first few lines in each verse were challenging to sing as they presented range issues combined with a slow tempo, so my vocal register changes were less than ideal. Plenty of chord changes to keep me on my toes through the whole song. Such well crafted and compelling lyrics though.

  • Much different instrument work and sound than the original.   Yet it works great.  Nice find on an early Sunday morning.   Thanks, Slingers.

  • I appreciate the listen Brian, Alan, and James! Unlike the original version (done in the studio with multiple takes) this is from our very live meeting, so all kinds of things can and do happen even coughing. I can play through quite a bit. This was a challenging song, so I knuckled down on it but never got it right in my practice all week. Fortunately, It came together on Monday night (usually it goes the other way!), so I was pleased. It is a great song, so well worth the effort.

  • Love that song! fine performance Doug

  • "Great Song", Well Done Doug & Slingers, but I don't remember ever hearing a cough in the original version :-D

  • Well done slinger’s!
