Good one. I am getting to where I can pick a single string melody or phrase fairly well. Joe, what I don't know is when to hit multiple strings. Is that experience or trial and error or is there something I've missed learning?

they might help. Its a personal taste thing....mess about with it. In time you will build ideas.
You could also try strumming/clawing all the strings with every note in the phrase!!
